Chad Santos replaced Aurilia at 1B. He went 0 for 1 but had 2 walks and scored a run. If you can magnify the photo, look at his left forearm. He has a word tattoo'd there in large block printing. Anyone know what it says?

Its something Hawaian, i remember them talking about it when he got called up last year. I think he's Hawaiian.

I remember Santos having a tattoo, but what it says beats me.

kaluhiokala? The first letter is obscured by his batting glove, but I think it is a k. Hawaiian for sure.

Well, maybe not a SURE thing, but it looks & sounds Hawaiian. I found a Hawaiian translator, but it doesn't translate. The first letter could be something else. Or its a name as anonymous said

I believe he has his child's name tatooed from what I recall. Also might be his wife too.

The tattoo is Chad's daughters middle name. Chad is born and raised in Hawaii to a Chamorro father from Guam and his mother is Hawaiian. Chad's grandparents from his father's side are originally from Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands.

Kaluhiokalani is the name...It is the middle name of his wife and
daughter. The name has been carried for several generations.
