Justin Knoedler replaced Molina at catcher in the 5th inning. Justin was a strikeout victim in his only AB (on 3 pitches).

He can't very well go up there hacking when the guy before him pops out on the first pitch. It looked like the only good pitch he got to hit was the first one.
Not faulting Knoedler. Just stating facts. In fact, I am a big Knoedler fan. If I had a vote I would be leaning toward Justin as the backup catcher rather than Elieser Alfonzo.
I agree, I like Knoedler. I also like Ellison, and some of the other rooks who won't make the team. After Knoedler is waisted for another year in AAA, he'll walk away from the Giants, who will get nothing, and he'll catch on with someone in Oct-Dec. I'm just sick and tired of loosing promising rooks with great skills, especially when it's a catcher who can run, great arm, and good approach at the plate. And we'll having nothing to show for it (him).
I have been a Giants fan for as long as I can remember. I have had Giants Regular Season Tickets for 25 years (since 1985) and Spring Training Season Tickets since the "new" Scottsdale Stadium opened in 1992. I have gone to Spring Training every year, except the strike year, since 1987. I go to A LOT of Giants games. I also go to Arizona for the Arizona Fall League every October/November. I figure I attended about 125-130 games in calendar year 2008......almost all of them involving Giants players. Baseball is a great game.....Giants' baseball is the best part of a great game!
