Mark Sweeney started at 1B and batted 6th today. He had probably his best day of the spring, going 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. He scored the Giants 3rd run of the game in the 9th inning. Whether the Giants intend to keep or trade Sweeney.....he needs to have more days like today to show his worth.

I didn't know where else to post this, but I was wondering what you think about how Bonds has looked at the plate. This is sheerly off of memory, but I really don't think he's drawn even a single walk. Like I said, I could be wrong, but even if he has it can't have been more than a few. Anyways, off of just box scores it seems like he might just be swinging for the fences. Of course, if that means he'll be hitting homers at this pace, then I'm all for it, but I wonder if it could be trouble for him if he were to keep the same approach during the season. Thanks for any input you have, and for all the great work on the blog.

Bonds has 8 Ks and 2 BBs to go with his 9 hits this Spring.
