Steve Kline threw the 6th and gave up 2 of the 4 runs the Mariners scored today. He gave up a leadoff single (to Ichiro) followed by a HR (by Adrian Beltre). He then finished the inning 1-2-3 on a flyout, a strikeout and a groundball to 2B. Usually when you give up 2 runs, you throw more than 17 pitches........but Kline managed to do it anyway. He actually would have thrown much less, but it took him 9 pitches to get the strikeout.
