Brad Hennessey was the recipient of the "Most Screwed by Your Own Defense Award". He threw the 8th inning. After the first 2 batters of the inning grounded out 6-3 and 4-3, the 3rd batter of the inning hit a one hopper to Rich Aurilia at 3B. Rich let the ball play him and took a step backward as the ball skipped by him for a 2 out error. Of course Hennessey didn't help matters as he gave up single, single, walk, HR to the next 4 batters. 4 unearned runs, turned a close 7-5 game into an 11-5 rout and the only question left was how would Brian Wilson do in the 9th inning.

Brian threw the 9th and was the only Giants pitcher on the day who did not give up a run. I had hoped he would be the only pitcher to not allow a hit, but a 2 out single ended those hopes. Still a very good inning for Wilson as he got 3 ground ball outs on only 11 pitches, 8 of them strikes.
