Another Missed Practice

Well, that thing called life got in the way of baseball again. I was expecting a package from UPS that I didn't want to sit, unattended, on the porch of my condo. Unfortunately, the package didn't get here until a little after noon......too late to go to the practice session.

So......I posted a few photos I took earlier but had not posted yet. Just miscellaneous views of spring in the Cactus League. Enjoy.

giantsfan9, where are you sitting for the games at Scottsdale? I'll be down there sat to tuesday, figured I meet up, maybe even for the 10th inning. We met at the AFL.

Hey just wanted to thank you for writing all of this down. I am a relocated Giants fan who moved from CA to CT a few years ago. The closest I can get to my Giants in my CT defenders. I see a lot of these guys that are going to be playing in the bigs down in AA before anyone. I tell you, some just down have it. Travis Ishikawa is a really poor fielder... Anyways I had a question if you might know, I heard a rumor that Lance Niekro is trying to develop a knuckle ball and pitch. I heard this a while back so I was just wondering...thanks

Actually, Lance had a pretty good knuckle ball that he learned from his Dad and uncle. Rumor was he was thinking about converting to a pitcher when he was with the Giants. During the off-season, Lance was signed as a Minor League free agent with a non-roster invite by the Houston Astros. I have heard no rumors about Houston considering converting him to a pitcher.

Jake, that's strange about Ishikawa. I remember hearing a lot of people say that his defense was very good, and his best tool. I hope you just saw some of his bad games...

I've never been able to make it to Spring training, so it's great to be able to experience it vicariously though this blog! Keep it up, man! (and no more slacking off, OK!!! ;-) )

i hope i saw his bad games... its funny that I get to see people like Fred Lewis come up and really get to see how they progress....I believe that the very first game i went to Pat Misch started, times have changed for him
