Jose Capellan followed Sanchez to the hill. Cappellan gave up the second "live" HR of the spring. An opposite field shot off the facing of the patio deck in RF by Daniel Ortmeier.
I read about that homer on the main page. Sounds awesome to hear Ortmeier is feeling right about his swing. That's great on top of how him and JT have been inseparable this week.
Anyway, about Capellan's stride; that would probably mean he has a lot of stress on his arm when he throws. Off the top of my head knowledge but who knows, whatever works for him I guess.
You're right that his stride looks shorter than the two you mentioned, but I don't think it's anything too unusual. Pitchers just have different deliveries. As for what it means, it's hard to tell without seeing him pitch. It's possible it means it takes him less effort when he throws, but it's hard to know.
I have been a Giants fan for as long as I can remember. I have had Giants Regular Season Tickets for 25 years (since 1985) and Spring Training Season Tickets since the "new" Scottsdale Stadium opened in 1992. I have gone to Spring Training every year, except the strike year, since 1987. I go to A LOT of Giants games. I also go to Arizona for the Arizona Fall League every October/November. I figure I attended about 125-130 games in calendar year 2008......almost all of them involving Giants players. Baseball is a great game.....Giants' baseball is the best part of a great game!

Let's try again...
I am no expert on pitching mechanics, but it looks like Capellan has a short stride, at least in comparison to Zito and Sanchez.
Is that normal? Or do the other two have longer strides?
