Typical Kevin Frandsen swing. Short, level with his head right on the ball. I posted two Frandsen photos for two reasons. ONE.......I had a request....and TWO.....He is my favorite young position player. I was hoping he would have a full-time position this year, but signing Feliz, Aurilia and Durham pretty much made that out of the question.....damnit.

Frandsen looks bigger than he was a last year. Hope that translates to some more pop.
I don't think he has an ounce of fat on him. Seems to me like he looks about the same as he did for the AFL season. He is not devoid of pop. His .588 slg% including 4 HRs (8 total extra base hits) in 85 AFL at bats shows that.
You and I agree 100% on this Dr. B. Why on earth did they have to re-sign Pedro?
I am a Frandsen fan, but didn't he kind of play himself out of their immediate plans with his poor defense last year? Maybe it was just nerves, but it was surprisingly good.
I do not think he is totally out of their plans. I think he will get at least 250-300 ABs - enough to show whether he can be counted on as a starter next year. I thin it will be tough for him to take Omar or Durham's jobs, but if Feliz performs like he did last year and Frandsen outplays Aurelia he will win the 3b starter's slot. I do not think Bochy - or Sabean, for that matter - is going to wait until July for Feliz.
If Frandsen played poor defense at the Major League level (and I can't say as how I remember it that way) it was a fluke. Frandsen is a very good defender. He played more SS than 2B in the Arizona Fall League but by the end of the season he was looking very good at an unfamiliar position. Lots of nice diving catches. He is more suited to 2B or 3B.....but if you can handle SS, you can pretty much handle any infield position.
gf9, I'm the one who req'd. the Franny photos. Thanks for doing so.
You guys know another 2B that they said doesn't draw enough walks? Chase Utley. Look what he has done.
True on Utley. Of course Frannie went down to the AFl to specifically work on his pitch selection and ended up leading the league with a .480 OBP Not bad for a guy who "can't take a pitch".
Man!!! Kevin looks huuuungry!!!!
