Noah News

If you weren't aware, Noah Lowry, who missed all of last year with arm problems, has already developed a tender shoulder this spring. He was supposed to throw off the mound on Tuesday.....and that was pushed back to today. The good news is that Noah DID throw today. The bad news is that he threw off of flat ground, NOT off a mound. Not a good sign. I was a good distance away......but honestly the body language during and after the session was not good.

He seemed to throw relatively hard (for Noah), but the facial expressions and the body language as he talked to the trainer afterward were not encouraging. If I were a betting man, I would say his shoulder is still not right. I hope I am wrong, because I am rooting for him. (I don't know about this blogger formatting. Whenever you post more than 1 photo per post, you never know what it is going to look like on the screen)

There is no reason to rush Noah Lowry for the season opener. Both the Giants and Lowry need to be cautious and smart.

Well Hank,

This not unexpected.

I would have been more surprised if Lowry made the team and pitched the entire season without going on the shelf. This might be the end of the road for Lowry.

Well heres a twist, Baggs is reporting that Lowry really did throw off a mound today...

I got a dozen photos that say otherwise (about 30 pitches). And when he left the field, he left with the trainer only, he left his catcher and the coaches behind. If he would have gone from there to the mounds....you would think the catcher and coaches would have gone with him.

From Chris Haft at MLB.com

Away from the practice fields, Noah Lowry continued his recovery from last year's pair of arm surgeries by throwing comfortably off a bullpen mound.

"It's getting better and better," said Lowry, who missed last season and experienced discomfort behind his throwing shoulder shortly after camp opened.

Chris Haft also reported he threw off the mound. I wonder if the Giants told them that to not make a big deal of the injury? There might be a reason Lowry threw on the practice field, before any of the other players took the field.

Doesn't seem likely that he threw that long on flat ground, left with the trainer and then pitched later on a mound. But I guess it's possible. But 60 or so pitches this early for a guy who has been injured? Doesn't seem likely.

As much as I hate to say it...I think Lowry is done.

Great potential, but just too easily injured.

Mikey920,

Believe nothing you read and only half of what you see.

Hank,

If your format is HTML. Try the html tag
after you enter your photos. To double the gap of separation add

or even

This will put the text directly under the photos.

If you are not using html format, this information won't help.

Well, the html codes I entered are invisible in my last post... On the keyboard "arrow pointing left BR arrow pointing right"

Hi all. Great site! Not too surprising about Lowry. I am looking forward to the competition at 2B this year and I don't think Chubs Uribe will be making the team. One too many chalupas.

Hey Gargy,

Glad you found this site.

Like most, got burned out with the Giants MLB board. This is for real Giants fans that want to talk baseball and no fluff.

What's up Burgle. Is it only Feb? Can we make it April already, I am sick of this NBA/Hockey crap.

Hey Gargy,

The only real sports there are to me is baseball and football.

Basketball and hockey are pretty boring.
