Next up was non-roster free agent, Ramon Ortiz. There was quite a drop off in quality from the three prior pitchers. I can see why he managed only a 5.82 ERA in Japan last year. He was almost as wild as Affeldt, but his pitches had MUCH less zip than any of the prior pitchers. As you might expect, he was hit pretty good. The batters he faced had more consistent contact against him than against any pitcher I have seen so far. It's early....but I guessing Ramon will stay non-roster.
