- I have been a Giants fan for as long as I can remember. I have had Giants Regular Season Tickets for 25 years (since 1985) and Spring Training Season Tickets since the "new" Scottsdale Stadium opened in 1992. I have gone to Spring Training every year, except the strike year, since 1987. I go to A LOT of Giants games. I also go to Arizona for the Arizona Fall League every October/November. I figure I attended about 125-130 games in calendar year 2008......almost all of them involving Giants players. Baseball is a great game.....Giants' baseball is the best part of a great game!

Can pick out Martinez and Sanchez out of this bunch but who is the player on the far left?
Merkin Valdez is on the far left. I believe that is Pat Misch on the far right.
The bullpen situation is going to be mighty interesting if Merkin Valdez is ready to go by opening day. He seems to be participating in all the drills so far. Have you seen him throw any pitches?
DrB......with the configuration of the facility, I wont be able to see any "real" pitching until live BP starts. The mounds they use are hidden from us peons.
Chris Haft is reporting over on sfgiants.com that Merkin threw a 31 pitch bullpen today. I haven't been counting Merkin into any of my bullpen projections because I figured he was going to start the year on the DL. I he is healthy, we're going to see some massive competition for bullpen spots.
