The Giants new Korean export and 4th pitcher of the day, Sun-Woo Kim. This guy has a very unorthodox delivery. He looks towards the sky right before starting his windup, draws the ball back in a low circle like many pitches do, but then he cocks the ball behind his right ear before letting it fly. The batters were complaining that the ball was hard to pickup. I walked behind the plate and it appeared to me that the ball appeared very late from behind his head. The question is.....what happened to the 'stuff" he had a few years back?

I saw Kim pitch for Redsox AA a few times. He had hard stuff back then in Trenton, NJ. Has he gone the finesse route or is he just going at a first-stage ST pace?
Really too early to tell. My comments were based on his 5.05 AAA ERA last year.....not to mention 5.40 and 19+ in short terms with the Reds and Rockies.
I went to a Fresno Grizzlies game that Kim pitched in for the Rockies AAA team last year and he absolutely dominated. He threw a 1-hitter and nothing was hit hard off of him all night. Our seats were right in front of the Rockies' pen and he was throwing darts in warmups. Hmm.

Didn't every pitcher dominate the Grizzlies? ;-)
I doubt he dominated too many teams or he would have had a better ERA. He will be pitching for the Grizzlies this year......so it will be interesting to see if he can dominate any other teams.
